How often should the descaling filter be replaced in a humidifier?
This depends on the quality of the water and how much limescale is in your water. If you have a lot of limescale in the water, the filter must be changed often. If you have little limescale, it can be changed infrequently. You should change the filter when you notice that it has little effect. You will then see a white dust forming around the appliance.

As a general recommendation, you should change the descaling filter one to ten times per year. Most people only use humidifiers in winter, and it's a good habit to discard the filter when you put the appliance away in spring. That way, you start every winter season with a new, fresh filter.
