Meaco Arete Dehumidifier for Norwegian Conditions
Dehumidifiers in the "Arete" series are absolutely fantastic. This may be because they were developed specifically for us in the Nordic region. By Nordic customers!
Thanks to Nordic customers who developed Arete for Nordic conditions
Dehumidifier developed by Nordic customers
Perhaps you helped develop the Arete dehumidifier?
Norway is an important market for Meaco, and when they were to develop their new Arete series, Nordic customers were asked what they wanted from a dehumidifier. During 2018, many customers were contacted with several questions about what the perfect dehumidifier should be like. How big should a dehumidifier be? What functions should a dehumidifier have? Which functions are important and which functions do you never use? If you answered these questions at that time, we would like to thank you very much. Now, a few years later, the answers have resulted in a new series of fantastic dehumidifiers from Meaco. The Meaco Arete One series!
What did Nordic customers want?
Drying capacity in the Nordic climate
Many dehumidifiers on the Nordic market are produced in China and are adapted to the Asian climate. It is colder in Norway, and a dehumidifier must work well at lower temperatures. Arete dehumidifiers are designed to work best between 10°C and 20°C to extract the maximum amount of water from the air when you need it most. The focus is on Arete working as well as possible and using as little power as possible in this temperature range.
Standard machines from the Far East are designed to work best at 27°C. Arete is designed for the Nordics.
Can be placed right against the wall

Many dehumidifiers need to be placed a little away from the wall to get air. Alternatively, they must be turned so that the air intake faces into the room. Then they are not so attractive (especially when the filter starts to get dirty). Some dehumidifiers have the water tank at the back, so you have to turn the unit every time you want to empty the water tank.
This has been solved very elegantly on Arete dehumidifiers. The air intake is pulled slightly into the machine so that you can safely place it with its back completely against the wall. The water tank is on the front, so you can easily see how much water is in it. You can also pull the water tank straight out without turning the machine. Read more about the water tank here.
Pure timeless Scandinavian design
Arete dehumidifiers have an elegant and timeless design. It is discreet in black and white. The surface is somewhat matte, and there are no green, blue, or red stripes that clash with your decor. Arete has a design that allows you to have it in front of you, and it fits just as well in the living room as in the laundry room.
Low noise level
Previously, dehumidifiers were only used in a wet and damp basement, and it didn't matter how much noise they made. Dehumidifiers are now used in the hall, in the laundry room, and sometimes even in the bedroom. Low noise level is then important. Arete is built to make as little noise as possible. It has two fan speeds, and it decides which one to use. If you set the dehumidifier to night mode, it will only use the lowest fan speed to be as quiet as possible. Arete has also been awarded the "Tystmærket" (Silent Mark) because it is so quiet.
Wall mount and pump
Many wanted the option to mount the dehumidifier on the wall. This saves space and makes it easier to drain into a sink. You can therefore get a wall mount for the small Arete model (10 liters and 12 liters) here.
Several also wanted to be able to use a pump. This is possible on the large Arete model (20 liters or 25 liters). This is a smart pump that gets power from the dehumidifier itself. It's an elegant solution. Pump here.
Arete has many good solutions
Almost everything Nordic customers wanted has become a reality in the new series from Meaco.
